Established in 2006 TransTech has offered services for businesses and individuals who require a knowledgeable and professional consultancy to ensure their projects are met with approval under environmental and ecological legislation.
Based in Connel, just outside Oban we travel all over Scotland and have worked from the Outer Hebrides in the West to St Andrews in the East, Scourie in the North and Drumfries in the South. Distance is no object.
With a particular interest in environmental risk assessment, Managing Director Garret Macfarlane PhD, BSc (hons) is increasingly recognised for being exceptionally knowledgeable in his field. He demands the best from his staff and sub-contractors and has established excellent relationships with other consultants in complementary and symbiotic fields. Combining the best interests of our clients with our knowledge of environmental regulation ensures that everyone at TransTech produces high standards of work and customer satisfaction.
Barbara Macfarlane MSc, BA (hons), MRSB is an experienced ecologist with specific training in protected mammal species surveys and mitigation, Phase 1 Habitat surveys/Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, bat surveying and breeding bird surveys. She is proactive in helping clients ensure that their development does not negatively impact on protected species.
A member of the British Ecological Society and a Full member of the Royal Society of Biology, she is qualified with an MSc from the University of Edinburgh in Biodiversity, Wildlife and Ecosystem Health.
