Private Water Supply Assessments in Argyll, Highland and throughout Scotland
Private water supplies are assessed to establish if they are sufficient to service the proposal, that the water in the supply is wholesome in terms of its chemical and/or biological constituents and that any risks to the supply are minimised.
To address potential risks we evaluate the hydrology within the point of the proposed abstraction, examine the risk from potential contaminants, and where past test results aren’t available take and analyse a water sample.
For all new developments for which a private water supply will be required a hydrological assessment will need to be carried out as described above. However, in recent years, we have also been commissioned to undertake assessments for properties that are to be sold or are for sale. The request for these has come from either the vendor or from the purchaser and for either party these can be carried out expeditiously.
